The PHS Suspended Floor Kit is designed to reduce draughts and heat loss, improve the energy performance of a building and protect it against interstitial condensation which can cause mould and rot.
How it Works:
- To correctly insulate a suspended floor, it needs to be airtight to function properly and prevent risk to the construction. The Vapour Control Membrane prevents condensation, stops cold air entering the building and warm air from leaving.
- The Breather Membrane is placed on the bottom. The printed side face to the cold. The membrane should be wrapped around the joists. Securing battens to the membrane and the joists followed by wrapping any overlaps and penetrations with airtight tape.
- Placing insulation in-between the joists.
- Covering the top of the floor in a vapour control layer and sealing overlaps with airtight tape.
- Placing floorboards overtop.
